• BeoPlay A9 or BeoSound Core with BeoLab 6000's

Hi All, I was looking at purchasing a BeoPlay A9 for use in a large double height dining room but the idea of using a pair of BeoLab 6000's connected to a BeoSound Core for multiroom is also appealing as they would be a better fit for the current furniture layout. I'd be interested in opinions on, - Sound quality between the two options. - Reliablity of the Core compared to the all-in-one A9. There seems to be a fair few complaints regarding the Essence and I wonder if the Core will suffer

Thanks mbee. Open to a pair of 8000's too. It's more the reliability of the BeoSound Core I'm worried about. Searching the forum there seems so many problems with the Essence, and I'm sure the two products share similar tech... Nick

  • Re: New beoplay product

I quite like this - will be interesting to hear how it compares to the HomePod when released.

I received the same email. The filename of the image in the email 'W45-17-01-EU Teaser Beoplay M3 Stay Tuned'. I guess this is the M3, a smaller version of the M5 to compete with Apples upcoming Homepod?

If it is a direct HomePod competitor I'd rather them do an enhanced M5, like Sonos have with their new Sonos One. That said if this is a Sonos One, at a price point no higher that 20% more, than this could be really interesting. Also it would be nice to get some clarity on Airplay 2 support. With B&W stating that none of its existing line-up will support the new standard, and my B&O dealers reassurances sounding a little hollow, I'm holding off on any new B&O purchases.
According to a Russian product listing the M3 will be around the £385.00 mark available in Black & Natural. ''Compact and powerful, BeoPlay M3 will turn any space in your home into an outstanding sound experience - while its style and exchangeable front covers''
If true this is very disappointing. $349 is the expected price of the Apple HomePod, the M3 is dead on arrival. A Beoplay multi-room speaker between £200 and £240

  • Re: BeoSound Shape : The BeoWorld Review

Great review Lee. The BeoSound Core sounds really interesting. Did they say, or do you think, this will become the new connection hub for the S8 2.1 system? Having multiroom built into a 2.1 system would be great! Nick

  • New BeoPlay product launching tomorrow?

As per the Beoplay Instagram account, and linked to www.beoplay.com/launch, it seems there is a new product coming tomorrow? Should we be excited? Any ideas what this might be?

  • Re: BeoAmp 16

Had a chat with my local B&O retailer today regarding the BeoAmp 16 and they were very helpful. My new property will have passive ceiling mounted speakers, installed by the developer, and the BeoAmp would allow me to 'zone' these speakers by room. I was quoted £2500 for the BeoAmp 16 but told I'd also need an Essence, for each zone, connected to the BeoAmp. So this setup would be £4860... Is there any other way to control the BeoAmp or is connecting multiple Essence's
