• Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE

@Martin: We are about to replace our 14 year old BV5 with an Eclipse 65 (next Friday :-) ) - although the BV5 will still be used in another room together with our BL8000. So your 5 year “old” BV7-55 is as good as new to me. BV7 even have HDMI inputs - which the BV5 doesn’t have (the main reason for replacing it in our living room!)

  • Re: Beolab5 connect to BV11-55 and Beosound 9000 at same time

Hi Daniel, I'm not 100% sure of what you are asking for, but: In my current setup, I only have to enter the distance from the TV and the BL5s in the BV5 settings. There is a switch on each BL5 where you select if the speaker is the R or the L one. BTW: I've currently ordered the PL switch from OneRemote as well - will use that to connect both the BS9000 and the TV with the BL5 when I get the new Eclipse next week.

  • Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE

One question reg the Eclipse: We have stored our Hi8/Mini DV video recordings (4:3 format) on a Sony DVD/HDD in our basement, and this is connected to the BV5 and controlled by the BV5 with PUC. When watching these 4:3 recordings on our BV5, the picture first are displayed as 16:9, but then we easily can use the Beo4 to change to 4:3 format (Format+1+left arrow). My question is: Is it possible to change the picture format to 4:3 on the Eclipse? If this is not possible on the Eclipse, we should plan

  • Re: BEOVISION ECLIPSE

We have been in a search for a replacement TV to our BV5 in our living room for a while now. Early this year I was really looking forward to the new OLED BeoVision, but when the Eclipse came, it was a real disappointment that the integration with our BS9000 would not be supported with the Eclipse. I have therefore been searching for a preowned BV12-65, BV11-55 or BV14-55 this fall. Buying a preowned BeoVision TV in Norway isn’t easy however - not many BV for sale here. And buying a BV from

Hi Daniel, I haven’t purchased a PL switch myself yet (still running BV5+BS9000+BL5). But if I understand Martin correctly (in the thread I linked above), your drawing is exactly how the setup should be to get the digital signal to work from the BS9000 to BL5 when you have a “newer” BV.

You should be able to use a PL switch as described in this thread: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/28649/227699.aspx#227699

  • Re: If I were the B&O CEO

Totally agree; one remote, design/piece of art etc, PLUSS: Possibility to add on to existing B&O equipment! It is OK that old customers have to buy new boxes (Beolink converter NL/ML etc) as long as they can integrate the old B&O systems (e.g. BS9000...) with the new, using One remote!

  • Re: Deezer HiFi, Eclipse & BL5/50/90
With only Powerlink output from Eclipse, isn't this non-optimal compared to say a digital connection? Or does this not matter?
I'm not an expert on the Eclipse, but using WIsa to BL50/90 should give a pure digital signal transfer and thus avvoid one DA/AD step in the signal flow, or? (Our BL5 will only use digital input when receiving the CD-Source sentence via PL from BS9000 or similar, otherwise the BL5s will have to do an extra AD step on the

  • Re: What is the best TV B&O ever made?

Strange - I thought that someone now would claim that the Eclipse is the best TV B&O ever made! If we had ended up buying the Eclipse (if we only had new Wisa speakers and no other B&O equipment that we still wanted to use in a simple, integrated way...), I think we might voted for the Eclipse... Our vote still goes to the BV5, but I think we'll now upgrade to a pre-owned BV12-65 NG (or possibly a BV11-55), and after that we'll have to reconsider our vote...
