• Re: Credible alternatives...

Your setup, and the past you refer to, does not mean too much for the current buyer. :) Actual portfolio is broken with customers (check on threads here on BV14, Horizon, Moment) being beta testers 1-2 years after release. Is that an AV backbone I intend to invest in some 10K+ EUR? So it's not about the old products anyway not available in the pricelist anymore, and all the decades long gone.

  • Re: Credible alternatives...

Obviously, I did not highlight Apple as an end-to-end AV alternative to B&O as we all know very well what are both companies product lineups and how much they overlap. But mark my words, HomePod will wipe the floor with the M5 at half the price and full Siri integration. As for the sound quality, my H7 beats (lol) AirPods hands down no discussion there. But hey, they hang on their stand for months now, and AirPods are used daily. On the positive, more hopeful side, I wish that there would be

  • Re: Credible alternatives...

TV alternative could only be a manufacturer that has Netflix, Amazon Video and HBO apps built into TV's OS - hence Loewe does not fit (if I want to have a hassle with an extra external box - and how elegant is that btw - then I'll simply have B&O). So it can be either LG or Sony, I don't like Samsung as a brand simply. On audio side, it would be Apple HomePod "mesh" around the apartment potentially. And even without the HomePod being launched yet, you just can't compare

  • Re: Beoplay App and A6 now supported ?

Tried it for fun right now: could not find my A6 with latest FW that was actually playing, 2 meters away from me. It did find, though, A9 on standby in the other side of the apartment. Not sure how much testing these apps undergo before releasing...

  • Re: New Beoplay H5, bluetooth

To resonate what Severed Hand of Skywalker wrote: I bought them because I wanted elegant and effective wireless solution for walking around, commuting etc without high expectations. And sadly, I need to confirm his cons word by word. After one week I gave them as present to my nephew as I simply couldn't force myself to use them. I was that annoyed with H5 falling out constantly no matter which tips I was using. And yes, the cable, oh goodness. :/ Bought Apple's AirPods and I can't be

  • Re: Where are B&O going right now?

Fantastic post Puncher, I'm not a native speaker so I can't be that eloquent. :) But I'll summarize my feedback on B&O by using a quote from AbFab: "I don't want more choice, I just want nicer things" Nicer = finished, technologically uptodate, a bit visionary. Current TV lineup certainly fails to tick these boxes. On the other hand, Beosound Shape might be a very positive example (I hope).

  • Re: The Beosound Moment Beta 2.x thread

Oh, and one more thing! :) That would allow me to put Moment anywhere I like in the apartment, regardless whether speakers used are near or not. Also, no wires - kind of a "poor man's" WISA effect on multiroom platform.

  • Re: The Beosound Moment Beta 2.x thread

    Hello Lyle,
Why would the benefits of this setup be to you?
My appartment configuration is such that I don't have need/room for dedicated Beolab speakers, but I like functionalities like MoodWheel and PatternPlay a lot. And I would like to use Moment for 4-5 different speakers around the apartment rather than one dedicated pair. Also, in such setup, I would dream of Moment being able to save few "programs" of the most used configurations

  • Re: The Beosound Moment Beta 2.x thread

Quick question for Moment owners with 2.x FW and other NL products like A6, A9, M5 etc: would it be possible to use them as default and only speakers - without any Beolab speakers connected to it? To use Moment as a "control center" of several devices around the apartment, none of them physically connected to the Moment itself?
