tangential arm issues
general repairability of newer tangentials
How wise is it to buy a BG 5005/5500/9500... series off ebay that "doesn't work" from someone who knows nothing about turntables? I recently passed up a chance on a BG 9500 from an estate sales company since I didn't know what was wrong with it or if what was left of it would survive...

Beogram 4002 tonearm always lowers at 12"
I have a Beogram 4002 that works perfect except for the fact that the tonearm always lowers at the beginning of the turning platter, even when no record is present. This is fine for 12" records but when playing 7" or 10" records I always have to manually direct the tonearm to the right...

Beogram 8002 - tonearm is not progressing inward
I got my Beogram 8002 back after weeks at the local repairing shop. He fixed the problem (he said) and surely the arm is now lowering at the right place according to what kind of record is on. But after some seconds the arm jumps, and is unable to move inwards. Is it possible for me to fix that? Or is...

Re: Beogram 5500 won't turn on
Hi Menahem Just saw your response re. tangential-tracking arm issue on Beogram 5500. In my case, the Play function works, the arm goes up and down and plays the record properly. However, the cartridge does not slide anymore, ultimately leading the reading to stop. I am kind of scared to carry out your...

BeoGram 3000 Type 5231 (tangential, not radial, arm) - How does it work?
Please forgive my ignorance, I've had a series of manual turntables (TD 160 mk II, SL 1200 etc) and have very little experience with an automatic TT as non-obvious as this one. This is the US variation of the 3000 (sold around 1972/75). It has the tangential arm, not the radial. The transport screws...

Re: Beogram 5500 (any 594x)
Depending who you ask, you will be provided with two suggestions: - A complete rebuild of the circuit board using Panasonic low-esr audiophile grade electrolytics, MKS-2 foil caps, Piher trimmers and metal-oxide resistors. (This would be the most popular suggestion). or - Fit the spring at the right...

Beogram 5005 Arm Not Lifting / Strange Behavior
Hello fellow beoworlders! I am looking for some help regarding my new system, and this seems like the most appropriate section to post it. The post on my new Beosystem 5000 can be read here . I am having mixed luck in getting the Beogram to operate correctly. I am aware that the stylus is past its best...

Stuck Transport Screws
Hi all, I have a Beogram 9000 and two of my transport keys are "stuck". By "stuck", I mean I can screw them and they will tighten into transport mode but will not go wobbly and loose like they are supposed to. One of them does. This means that one corner of the platter is a few mm...

Re: Beogram 5500 stopped mid-play, tonearm also stuck.
As of today, my Beogram 5500 has exactly the same problem. I was wondering if there is already a solution to the problem? Thanks, Job
