    Wow this is a great site. I got some quick practical advice and have now replaced the fuse (with a bit of a struggle, it's very inaccessible. I had to wrap the new fuse with kitchen "grip tight" and use long-nosed pliers to get it in). The result is my lovely Beocord 5500 is working again...

  • Beocord 5500 won't power up

    I have a B and O 5500 system with CD player and Phono and Tape player/recorder. The Radio/amplifier, CD player and Phono are working perfectly. The Beocord 5500 Tape is dead. It doesn't respond to the remote or the buttons on the recorder. The small red indicator light does not come on and a multitester...

  • Beomaster 5500 T4a fuse blows every time power is connected

    hi ... I have no electrical engineering knowledge... i have a multimeter but v.little idea how to use it.. so now you know what your up against! Therapeutic as it is watching the fuse blow i figured it wasn't worth sacrificing a 3rd one to watch it go up in an orange flash.... so i need help understanding...
