• maintaining the brushed metal surface

Dear All, I have an old system with black brushed metal surface. The Beogram suffered by unsecured transport, the turntable moved and scratched the surface, not too badly, fortunately. Does anyone have experience with cleaning or repairing such surfaces? All tips welcome! Many thanks, kind regards, Ernest

  • Splashy treble and a little rumble - Beogram 5005, re-tipped MMC4

Dear Beoists, I was just banging out the Pixies' Surfa Rosa when I noticed the 's' sound from the vocalists sounded a bit splashy and between tracks I could hear a bit of 'rumble'. I've noticed the splashy 's' sound before on singers' vocals but often put it down to...

  • Beomaster 5500 - faulty phono

I just got my hands on a Beomaster 5500. It works beautifully with My CD-player. My record decks (Beogram 4004 &Beogram 5000) are quite another matter as the output level is very low; not half the volume produced from CD. I get approx. the same result connecting either turntable to the PHONO inlet...

  • Beogram 6500

Hello, I'm new here (from Denmark) so a small greeting to everyone. I'm completely new to B&O and as I was looking to buying a record player (maybe the whole beosystem ) I fell upon the beogram 6500 and 5500 in white and I'm totally mesmerized by it. It really is beautiful from the pictures...

  • 3404 table replace or repair?

I found a 3404 and pair of P45 speakers at an estate sale for cheap. The speakers are great, the table not so much. Seems the left channel is barely working. Just a whisper compared to the right side. So I am guessing the MMC20EN cart is in need or repair or replacement. I like what sound-smith.com is...

  • Re: Stylus Re Tipping
Indeed. I wish Axel had an English version of his website though!
... the most most important page for B&O owners about MMC needle repair is also available in English! http://www.schallplattennadeln.de/B-O-MMC-Reparatur-Repair/MMC-Repair-English/ For all other...

  • Beogram 6500 Skipping

I have a recently activated Beogram 6500. It plays but has tracking issues, skipping every few seconds. I have cleaned the stylus. ( it looks normal as far as I can tell) I have made sure the stylus guard is up. The records are clean with no scratches. The tracking force is at 1 gm but I get a little...

  • slave amp for passive speakers

I've recently acquired a pair of CX100 bookshelf speakers, along with a beocenter 9000 and a beogram, however the center is broken and I'll be selling it for spares or repair as it is far beyond my ability to fix. I hope to get the speakers working. I'd like to be able to play LPs from the...
