yes, its not supported.....not in the specs of the Eclipse anyway.....

B&O haven't implemented Atmos anywhere, so that shouldn't be a surprise..

No, there is no support for Dolby Atmos in the SoundCenter of the Eclipse.

Sure, the LG tv-part can bitstream the Atmos soundtrack, but you would need a decoder for it in the soundprocessor.

I don't expect that to happen soon!

In the meantime you could enjoy the B&O TrueImage upmixer....if you have enough speakers connected to the tv/the SoundCenter.

This - 4 years old - article tells a bit about that:

Finally the Eclipse is here and it replaces my Avant 55 first gen very easy. Smile

(Don’t worry, I have a normal BeoRemote One BT also). But I find the Netflix very useful.

Its a big difference to come around the corner and see that incredible thin screen. A little find f*ck Big Smile.

A was surprised about how elegant the backside of the LG screen was. Heard people say it was cheap looking but in IRL it’s much like the Avant.

The installation didn’t take long and the cables was easier to handle (even it is still very tight).

So far I have had two problems that I didn’t think about. One is that I often use the “Homemedia” source to listen to my Lossless music on a hard drive that I have in the network. The app/source on the Eclipse find the hard drive but couldn’t recognise the Flac and AIFF files. Sad

And the “My buttons” didn’t work. I have taking these issues with my dealer so hope to get it solved soon.

And the only thing that’s bothering me isn’t the Tv but the two-way Bluetooth controls. I’m used to the IR based menu.

Sound and picture is amazing and is better then the Avant that I can compare it to.

Will maybe post a video on YouTube with the main difference.

That's a nice setup, Erik, did you think of trying the forged iron gray colored speaker fret for the Eclipse? I'm curious how that darker color would have offset the white BL5's flanking the television.

Regardless, congratulations, and that looks great!

Haha! Yes, white is my thing but I have actually ordered it with the aluminum front. The alu fronts will come in January but black works quite good.

You get the feeling that the screen just keeps going down into the speaker front due to the Bezels are so thin. Smile

Thanks! I actually ordered the alu front but got the black one for free due to late delivery.

My dealer talked about the forged grey colour would be nice. I was also into to the Persian night blueish.

But I did the "safe" thing and went for all black.

Same here, i ordered the alu front but have to wait. So i wanted the red front cover, but that wasn’t ready either although it was supposed to arrive. So now i have a black one too for the time being. The red one should arrive soon, mostly picked it for the holliday season anyway Stick out tongue

Impressive setup Erik,

Curious about actual details on the sound. Do you feel the Eclipse sound bar is almost unnecessary in your setup,or does it really perform as a centre channel that well? After all its about the cost of a single BL5.

Thanks Beoaus.

I’ve been testing etc but so far the tv works fab with my bl50’s but even on its own(night watching etc) it’s really good. The missus even commented on that today, that the tv alone is rather impressive sounding. Also as a center it is much more inline volume wise/clarity than my last setup.

I’ll do a more indepth write up on both sometime soon.

Sure,

Beolab 5's are priced in Australia singularly. Say $16,000 AUD each, double for 2.

A Beovision Eclipse 65 uses the LG Panel at about $5,000 separately. Ad the BL5 speaker cost from above to the cost of the standard LG panel and you are below the cost of a 65 inch Eclipse. I know its not a workable solution and the stand is not considered, though the speaker on the Eclipse is where most of the money goes which I do need to understand. Especially for those with existing separate multi channel speaker setups, like myself.

Just my strange mind working overtime, plus its loosely calculated.

Cheers, Beoaus.

The sound better then my Avant 55". The sound feels directed to the listener and it has a better depth. It's almost like having a pair of BL17 as center speakers and the sound image is more wider then the Avant. Like, Mikipedia, I often use the TV (center speakers) for night watching or normal TV use. Don't need to fire up the whole surround sound system. TV series and normal TV shows I use center speakers. For music I use the BL5's. BL18 I use for music for more background listning. I don't know the price for a single BL5 speakers is. In Sweden all speakers are sold in pairs. I think in Denmark price is per speaker.

I almost have the same setup as you do :)

How ever i came from a 10-46 and therefor the difference is a bit more night and day.

With the eclipse my rear bl18’s seem to have come alive compared. It almost seems like the second 4” driver is now working too compared to before, that’s how big the difference is. They sound magnificent, the difference is so big i don’t recognise the sound signature anymore. Its like have two new speakers in back Big Smile

To be perfectly honest here, I have to say that my dealer initially told me a wrong quote about the Eclipse.

I just checked another french dealer with a good website and the prices are shown.

The tv is still very expensive but less than what I said and yes, even less (a few €) than the Avant NG.

55" : 8.800 € + 1.455 € floor stand = 10.255 € (with fabric speaker - extra 850 € for alu speaker).

Folks, another feedback after I had the opportunity to see the Eclipse and Loewe in person in Europe. This is just my personal opinion and I do expect some to agree and some to disagree.

First on Eclipse, I will not repeat what have been said multiple times but my new observations are design aspects. After spending almost 2 hours in front of iit and visiting 2 separate dealers. I moved between like it and not like it. Main design low point for me was the "black glass undert the speaker which seems an oddity. When the TV is switched off, it looks well balanced and aligned with the screen but when the screen is switched on, It seems out of shape with the screen as the outer doimensions are the same as the panel with siding but when the screen is on, then the black glass seems bigger then the screen and out of alignment.

TV experience is nothing more to write about., Pure LG and I did not enjoy interacting with the TV.

Sound bar is absolutely delicious and if someone does not have the B&O sound at home, this could be a great one in all product . This should also mean that the new buyer may not be as picky on small things that we oldies fuss about 😏.

On the Loewe, it looked better in poerson that I expected from the pictures and TV interactions and picture quality seemed better than Eclipse. SOund is o pretty clean and good for a TV built cannot be compared with Eclipse.

So the biggest selling point for Eclipse is the sound and biggest selling point for Loewe is the overall expernce of quality finish / design and perhaps money. If sound was my primary need, I would go with Eclipse (though still with some hesitation) and if the picture / experience is the reason to buy TV, Loewe may be better way to go.

On the 65 inch, I would personally tilt towards the Eclipse only for the reason the my wife things it will look better with BL 50 but I am turning more towards the Loewe 77 inch as the screen experience is just out of the world. No comparison between the 65 inch and 77 inch and  am happy to give up the features that Eclipse brings versus the 77 inch Loewe. With the price quoted, Loewe 77 inch will only be 3500 Euro higher than the Eclipse.

Still sorting out the shipping hassles and once clear, I will move forward.

Hope that helps some.

Thanks Svinaik for your thoughts.
I am quoting the above phrase because it is exectly what I was thinking this morning.

Perhaps the Eclipse will sell well into the BeoPlay scene ? I am thinking of that party advert on YouTube.  The one where people are dancing in different rooms.

In my revised advert the hosts then join the Eclipse to the party and .... KAPOW .... everyone is stunned; and then they party twice as hard  Laughing

For a BS2 (I know not strictly BeoPlay) the Eclipse is a logical powerful step forward - more than say buying a pair of BL20s.

On your other feedback I am also in strong agreement.

What is very interesting is your view on the 77” - I was going to look up the prices yesterday !  So thank you Smile

My wife rejected the very large Loewe because of its stand (not the size of the screen) as the stand consumes too much floor space (for our room).

Are you thinking of that "easel" stand ? Or are there alternatives ?

Maybe the Bild 7 is not the Loewe we saw.

It was a large screen mounted inside a large "bronze" trapezoidal frame

Is that the one you are thinking of ... or this one: https://www.loewe.tv/int/configure/bild-7 ?

I will go with standard motorized floor stand (tripod style) not easel stand. I would have personally preferred the Round base on the stand but Loewe is now into angular designs, not  circular designs.

On the floor space issue, another way to think is that space under the Screen cannot really be used for anything in any case. So stand size should not mattter much. I did not feel stand size was any issue at all but that is just a personal opinion. Wives can be a bit more serious on these matters while husbands are generally glued to the panels.

I am currently traveling in Europe . I saw the Eclipse in Vienna and now in Amsterdam also. I visited the Loewe Gallery in Amsterdam and got the final quote on Loewe 77. I am going for it.

With the Almando Box, integration of BL 50 is no issue. Perhaps a good mix of Loewe and B&O. Loewe dealer was very knowledgeable and has been the B&O dealer also in past and at the other locations. Knew all that I needed to know to integrate B&O and Loewe.

Once I get all the pieces in place, I will share my experience and any help that I can provide to anyone wanting to walk this path.

hello Svinaik

congratulations with your purchase of the Loewe!

One question I have on the set-up of a Loewe TV with Beolabs: can you still use the Loewe TV as your center speaker?

I am tempted to do something similar, but distance between my beolabs is 5 meters. I fear that without a decent center speaker, this would not give satisfactory results especially for voice reproduction (eg. in movies; etc.).

Very interested in your feedback!

Hi Jan

with the Almando Box, TV will act as the center speaker and your BL 5 will work as left and right front. Actually, I saw the process on Loewe TV where the speakers setting are made. It is easy to do so.

On another positive note, I have taken the plunge and have confirmed order for the Loewe 7.77 with motorized stand and Almando Box. Total cost including shipping to USA is Euro 14,600.

PM me for any details required.

Someone who knows where to put a harddisk for recording into the 65’ Eclipse.

I have study the installation video from B&O Global training and have really no idea where it can be hidden, there is hardly any space for another wire together with the HDMI 2 cable for the communication between the soundcenter and the LG.

The only option is the USB 3 port close to HDMI 2 and there is no room in this section of the LG for a harddisk and there is a very limited canal for a wire to pass out from there together with the communication HDMI cabel.

How does this work? I thought the TV will switch off its internal speaker when directing its output to the Armando Box? What you are saying is too good to be true...

Hello everyone. I'm hoping someone can clarify a couple of questions for me.

In the medium to recent past, BeoVision TVs have automatically adjusted their picture settings based on ambient lighting conditions.

1. Does the BeoVision Eclipse include this capability?

I've read a couple of reviews/articles that refer to some "Expert" picture settings or profiles.

2. What is the role of these settings on obtaining accurate/lifelike/good/best picture reproduction? Do they have to be manually selected?

Thanks, everyone, for your time.

Scott
