What i understand that the speaker of the eclipes will attach/clip  under the bottom of the tv and yes a sort of bv7 finnish/look.

I have not seen the tv yet but been told its nice and the pic is fab.

Not long to go now just hope its worth the wait look wise and price wise.

So, more of an "e-clips" than eclipse?

I don't think you can remove it since I understand the bar hosts the connections panel.. The soundbar is not under the TV, it is part of the TV. You have the screen (thin like all the new LG panels), the soundbar and then some more glass under the soundbar. the whole thing is like a glass square with a soundbar in the second half, and the soundbar sticks out horizontally on both sides (obviously not just to the left or the right :) ).

My english is too bad too describe it properly sorry.

The bar is supposed to be very powerful and great-sounding ("unlike anything I have heard of" the friend said).

There is only a motorised stand like the Avant (but smaller foot print thank god) or a wall mount.

I'm a BV10 and 11 owner. They fit perfectly with the way our living room is designed. I like the design of the new TV but no easel stand (that covers the amount of stuff which is behind the TV - not everything fits on STB brackets) means that the only option for me would be to wire the house and install an HDMI matrix to have all the equipment in a different room.

I think I read somewhere that B&O will present the TV at IFA later this month, so dealers should receive the first pieces shortly afterwards.

Philips had a DesignLine tv made from an entire piece of glass some years ago - a glass square.

If I remember well, it was supposed to sort of lean against the wall.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV.

If soundbar is wider than the tV, it means the glass square must also be wider than the TV screen (or it is not a square anymore...). Looking forward to seeing it, but according to your descrption, it looks original and very nice...

Thanks for this very interesting post !

To me it sounds like a describtion of a modern AV5. Speaker ends will probably move out from the square? Agree very interesting. Looking forward to see it.

I'll try to be more clear :)

Shape-wise, Imagine a BV11 but thin as the new LG panels, with a shorter (in height) soundbar (bulkier than the BV11 speaker, like the one of the BV7) and wider than the glass. You get glass on top of the bar (where the screen is) and a glass bezel (if it is glass in the bottom, I'm not sure) under the bar. The ensemble still looks like a square.

Pricing of this new Beovision Eclipse is very important for my choice.

Personal I have been waiting for more than five years for a new Bang & Olufsen TV, which actually worth their insane high prices, it has unfortunately still not happened, even I always has preferred TV from B&O before in time, mainly because of their picture quality.

So just going on waiting, living with an old Beovision 3, who’s only job is to feed a B&O surround speaker system in our home theatre (projector) TV viewing takes place in another room with a top model from Sony.

Of course I’m looking forward for this upcoming OLED from B&O/LG, but also very worried to get disappointed another time. It can be the way they again are technical behind or priced unreasonable high.

So, I have been working for long time on a backup plan, which ready now and will include the new Loewe Bild 5 OLED TV (built in surround decoder) connected to a newly released surround switch box from Almando. The good thing with this Almando box is, it accept Loewe’s Digital Audio Link directly and possibly can be able to handle HD sound from a TV connected blu-ray player and all the way to speakers, also Beolab 5.

If the new 65’ Beovision end up in 10.000,-£ or even more it will be my final goodbye to B&O TV, with that extremely rapidly developing and change in screen technologies, no TV at 65’ can make justice for a price +10.000,-£, or in my case end up with that I never can afford to replace it.

Just my opinion.

I'm also considering a similar backup plan, but I want to keep my BL 18's and 19. I still have to figure out how though. Thanks for the insight I'll have a look at the components you mentioned.

The 65" is closer to £13K! Where did £10K come from?

Thank you for info. I could also like to ask, if this is with or without the floor stand.

The high price is certainly due to the extensive use of glass and aluminium (one of the reason).

The Horizon has no glass (no contrast screen), small alu speaker grid and frame, so the lower price.

The 55" will be around £10K and the 65" around £13K - that's a definitive ballpark figure and worth noting that standard B&O prices usually exclude a floor stand.

Will *not* be cheaper than the Avant, unless you're comparing to the 75"!

As far as I know there will be no 85 Eclipse.

It can't be true with these prices, if that's really become true Bang & Olufsen may have chosen this should be there final end of tv production.

It seems strange to me. The 55 with motorised stand should be around 9500 CHF (in line with the 55 Avant NG). If you account for the exchange rate and the lower VAT in CH (8%) you shouldn't get to 9K GBP, and that's being generous with the exchange rate.

I So much wanted an Avant but with some internal bits missing I just could not do it and waited for a mk 2 Which never came :-(

Now things are getting very exciting with the new Eclipse Oled picture all the internals now intact which should have been in the Avant only to maybe find its way more expensive and out of most peoples price range (just have to wait  for the price) If so im out and have to defect to another make......

I do hope its around the Avant price??? As its sounds Fabulous can`t wait to see the spec's and would be my pull back to B & O.

I'm just quoting what the dealer said. He didn't give me too much info but he admitted that the Eclipse won't be a step above the Avant so Avant will remain the highest line.

Need to wait and see.

I said it before, the Eclipse has to be less expensive than the Avant unless it won't sell.

This tv must be a great seller if B&O wants to take the head out of the water and first thing is the price.

With the LG base and the Cz factory assembly they can make it.

I'm waiting for the 55" like the messiah so I don't want to be desappointed by a huge price tag (the Avant with a discount is ok) and It's obvious I'm not the only one.

I completely agree. B&O need to price the BV Eclipse realistically.

I got the Avant-NG 55" + wall bracket for $9820 USD or 8350 EUR from my dealer. Not sure if you consider it a good deal.

Definitely yes. 10.000 € for the Avant on motorised floor stand is the price.

But the Avant is "special" (great stand and speakers).

That's about the right price, maybe a touch less. New Avant is 8000 GBP or thereabouts, which is 8800 euro or about 10400 USD...including wall bracket

How about this comparison? Loewe Bild 9, 55 " is about 8000 euro. It comes with a stand made of painted steel, not included, and a speaker below probably not as good as the Eclipse speaker.

For this price the stand is included. https://www.loewe.tv/de/configure/bild-9

And the Bild 7 is 5000€ + 1000€ for the motorized foot.

I agree but guess you pay for the designer... In the French site they don’t speak about painted steel but they tell that it is hand polished. Maybe it has a kind of expensive treatment like anodization for aluminium.
