I don't have a Moment, but I have noticed that when using BeoMusic with my Essence, that Album Covers don't show in BeoMusic at first, but sometimes eventually they do, and they almost always do if I navigate away from the BeoMusic App, and go back to it.

So, I have been playing a lot with the loaned Moment.

I really think it is cool, I have no dropout issues, no wifi issues, and my lipsync problem with my Samsung TV via line-in is gone, I just need to set the delay to 70ms in the Moment, and all is fine.

I will borrow an M5 today, just to see if I have issues with multiroom delay with 70ms delay.

However, I really miss one thing.

Normally when I "browse" music, I use youtube or my YouSee music (like Spotify and so on from my internet provider), and if I find some music I have not heard before, I start it, but most of the times, also skips forward if it is a slow starter, just to quickly determine if I like it :)

I miss a "playing" screen with more info and controls, the current "playing" screen is not of much use if you ask me, I never use it.

If it could have more controls, like ALL the other apps you listen to music on, then it would be great. I found myself using my phone and Bluetooth yesterday, instead of the Jukebox, to browse music from a new artist (which actually the moment found for me with the Moodwheel), but it was to slow and not as intuitive as the app's browsing functions.

I know the Moment is not an App, but some more "playing controls/info" and better "queue" handling, would be nice. I constantly stops the song I am listening to, and starting a new when browsing music I have done a search for.

I really really like it, and the design fit's in, but I am beginning to have thoughts about whether it is for me, or if it would just be a nice looking Line-in device for my tv, and maybe a Bluetooth receiver when I am browing music on my phone/ipad.

Hello Weebyx

Nice to hear about your experiences with the Moment. I found it interesting to see that you connected your Samsung TV to line-in.

I have some questions to this point:

- how did you connect the Tv? Optical out to a DAC to line-in?

- is the 70 ms delay noticeable when watching TV?

- how do you control volume? On the Moment or on the TV?

- can you still use the TV as Center speaker? If not, do you listen to your TV sound via 2 stereo speakers? Don't you miss a Center speaker?

I am asking all these questions since I currently have a B&O tv but I am not sure my next tv will be B&O. A setup such as yours would then be an option.

In the now playing screen, double-tapping the current song gives you a progress bar that you can slide to skip ahead in the song. Not exactly intuitive.

And on an unrelated note - I cannot get Plex DLNA working with the Moment, with my Synology NAS as Plex server. The Moment stops at 10% scanning and never gets any further.

The really weird thing is that while no Local artists show up in the collection, in the Beoplay app I can see that 39 artists are available (should be around 105). I can even start music from the Beoplay app and play songs from the NAS, but they will not show up on the Moment.

There seems to be a pattern that when an artist is found with an album containing M4A files, Plex will not show that artist in the Beoplay app. No idea why nothing shows up on the Moment though.

Any ideas?

- Tv is connected as you wrote, optical->dac->line in.

- 70ms is not noticeable for me at least, it is possible to lower it to 0, but I need to first test how low it can go, and still do multiroom :)

- Volume is Moment controlled.

- TV speakers are turned off, only Stereo sound from my 2 Penta's connected to the Moment. No center speaker, and I don't miss it :)

Thanks for your feedback. My BL9 are approximately 5 meters separated from each other. I fear that I would miss a Center Speaker in my setup.

Would be interesting to hear from other persons with a similar setup

How will systems running the beta SW, be updated when the public release is available, should they be factory reset, or how will the unit know to find the public release and not the beta ?

Will it just happen automatically, and will they then automatically be a part of 3.x beta SW

If you have received the beta through me, I hope you will remain on the beta track. However, if you ask to be returned to the public release track, this is a simple procedure and does not require a factory reset. I will remove your serials from receiving beta releases, and then when the next public release happens, you get on that track and stay there.

Everyone that has accessed it through a dealer should talk to their dealer about wanting to continue or not.

If you are a Deezer family subscriber, I recommend that you put the primary account on the Moment, and then give all the secondary accounts to the family members.

Then from the primary account you can 'heart' the Loved tracks playlists from the family members accounts, and then these will appear under the Playlists on your Moment, with the name of the family member below the playlist.

There is indeed an issue with the Moment not servicing album cover images when a track is played from the JB, but if you start the same track from the BeoMusic app, you'll see the album cover in the App .... assuming the track has one.

Maybe a simple oversight due to the non-usage of the album covers on the JukeBox UI

My BS Moment (Jukebox) shows the most covers of my tracks correctly except of the CDs with Various Artists. In Germany we call them "Sampler" (Fetenhits, Chartshow, Bravohits, etc.) All my tracks have the covers embedded, but no cover of this CDs is shown.

Ok, I have now made a decision.

I will buy a Moment :)

Borrowed an M5 yesterday to test the 50ms delay setting, and it worked like a charm. So now I can use the Line-in with my Samsung TV, and still have multiroom work.

There was a very small delay sometimes when using tv sound and multiroom, but that will not be something I will use anyway.

I will wait to get the Moment until the public release of the new SW, so they better get on with it :)

Looking forward to play and get my own music up and running, and not my dealers ;) He wondered where all that rock came from ;)

Will make sure to take a lot of unboxing pictures and create a thread with them :)

Please can someone explain me how the multiroom sync delay parameter can have an impact on the line-in delay?
For me they are completely disconnected, the multiroom setup manages network delay to ensure synchronicity of sound across Multiroom devices, while the native line-in delay is leveraged to assist the integration of a line-in source in a multiroom setup, disabling this delay would impact the synchronicity.

On the A6 for example, there are two different configuration options, one to disable/enable the line-in delay and one for the multiroom sync.

That said, good choice Weebyx!

Hey Lyle,

Great work on v2. My 2 year old Moment is actually useful again! I appreciate all the efforts.

Any chance at all of adding a simple shuffle or random feature for playlists? This would seem to me to be a very vital feature that's been overlooked.

Try a double-tap on the playlist image, it should do the job!

Well, I cannot explain 100% because I don't know how they coded it, but my guess is that they use the same buffer for all, that means that both deezer/tune-in/dlna and line-in is going through the Multiroom "buffer-delay". And the reason we think it is weird, is that we normally think of line-in as something "special" that goes around everything else, but since line-in is also available over multiroom, then off course this needs to be affected by the delay also.

At least it works :)

A good test would be to seriously increase the delay value for both wired and wireless and see if it impacts the line-in delay?

I did that, changed it to 2000, and there was a 2 second delay between sound and picture.

The delay impacts Line-in :)

After the dealer has added your serials to the beta, you can manually 'check for update' in Settings, and then you will get it right away.

A few people (who were among the first to get beta of 2.0) will have started to get the 2.1 beta, as they are on an earlier track we have in our labs. Most people here will have 2.066 until after we do the public release.

And must I just say one thing. I am very impressed by the Moment.

It is totally what I expected, the only (obvious)thing I have found is that some of my album covers in the "Collection" are missing, even though all albums under the given artist(with no cover) has album covers. All albums on Moment are from Deezer for now.

Otherwise I am very happy, and looking forward to the public release,

I am in the Beta too, and must say, more than happy. Only issue I had, whas that the harvesting of my library, (140gig musisc), took so many days. I made a factory reset and then added small parts at a time, max 40gig. Then it only took me a day. The only thing that annoyed me, was that there was constantly a message in the right down corner, which says "harvesting etc...."

When I went to Englisch language, I did not get that message, till this morning. When I tapped on tje JB, this message whas there again. Does it occurs randomly or is there a reason why is sometimes does occurs and sometimes not?

Hej Athos. Super to hear you are enjoying 2.0.

We agree that the bottom right hand corner is 'too wordy' right now, but have erred on the side of showing 'too much information' while maturing the software. The more information the testers and the developers can have, the faster we can diagnose and resolve issues. Once we have the successful launch of 2.0 under our belts we intend to slightly tone the amount of messages down so that we show the ones that matter, when it matters.

Ah - 2.0 made the Moment great again!

One funny observation, it's connected via wifi to an Avant-75, is that the Moment display lights up when I turn on the TV. When I turn off the TV, the display of the moment remains on - If I then select an audio source and turn off, the display shuts down, too. After turning off the TV, the display of the Moment remains on for hours. Is there something in the setup I have missed? Pre-2.0 this never happened.

I haven't been part of the beta programme, but have followed this thread with intense interest and increasing anticipation. For the most part in the two years I have had my Moment I have controlled it with the BeoMusic app, because of the shortcomings in the interface on the Moment itself. I am now really looking forward for this to change, and judging from the comments in this thread I understand that I have something to look forward to. So much, in fact, that the last two days I have been manually checking for software updates on my Moment at least ten times a day, since I saw Lyle's remark that the update would go live in week 9. Embarrassed

So: any chance of being told when or which day the update goes live for us non-beta folks? Or will I have to check ten times today as well? Smile
