    Chris,

I've taken the liberty of posting the link you found as an announcement on the ebay section as it is a subject which crops up more than any other there. I am going to leave your post here on the general section as I really think this subject warrants the attention of the general membership.

Once again, thank you very much for this excellent bit of investigation it is really appreciated.Smile

    Chris.

Very useful , the case is truly awful on the fakes, the split on the cable is one of the few giveaways on the actual headphones. Is the movement damped on the fakes as it is on the real ones?

Great! From now on I'm going to use that link when I report auctioned fakes on the Swedish auction site Tradera. I've reported several auctions (at least 15...) to Tradera (owned by Ebay) the last month, but they don't seem to take it seriously.

    Re: A8 fake and original

Can somebody tell me if these A8 earphones are original or fake? Photo beneath:

They seem to be original for me though I am not sure. I have only this photo. What do you think?

    Re: A8 fake and original

The A8 is orginal, but the picture may be not  take by the seller...

Ask another picture with your name write on a paper near the headphone

    Re: A8 fake and original

Thank you for your advice. I have asked the seller to send me a better picture. I got a reply that he is sorry because he hasn't at the moment a camera! Strange...

How must the divide look like where the two cables from each headphone get-together to one? In the youtube video is a difference... But everywhere I look, it looks like the "fake" in this video...

http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=sZMKFHYAY7U  @ 1 min 17, the video says that left is the "original"

I asked this same question a few days back. Bizarrely, the answer seems to be that the 'divide' on the genuine A8s has been changed from the original small square block to the same 'Y' shape divider you see on the fakes. Strange, but true, and they look a bit nasty IMHO - plus I'm convinced my old ones sounded better than the new ones I just bought (from B&O dealer, so definitely genuine).

    Re: A8 fake and original

Mine are also bought from a B&O dealer, and I got the same Y connection between the cables, as described on the "fake" ones.

    Re: A8 fake and original

so, ebay.co.uk and ebay.de are full of fakes again - I often report these to ebay (who obviously don't give a damn - as they lose money when items are withdrawn without being sold)

Why the hell do B&O not take official action against ebay like Louis Vuitton did?

LVMH got €38.8 Million Euro from ebay as they did too little to prevent the sales of fakes.

    A nice little financial boost

    Re: A8 fake and original

It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for fake coloured A8's to turn up on ebay!
