Me too, but what would the XApp provide me on this front?

Isn't its main mission to control audio streaming of our B&O devices?

No - at least as I have understood it - it will replace the Beomusic and the BeoRemote (and assumeably also the setup app)

as a universal B&O control app.

Mr Andersen - please confirm or disprove!

Sandyb:

are you a beta tester?

under Music, add DLNA, searched for servers......it took a few attempts for the search to find my NAS, the first few attempts returned nothing......my QNAP was due a reboot and firmware update....did that, and then the NAS appeared ("magically") in the X app......so in essence, didn't really need to do anything configuration wise.......

i have a QNAP 251 by the way.....

And what happens if you have more than one server running on your network?

(I have at least 5 or 6).

Will all be displayed - or can you choose which one/ones to display?

You see all the available servers at setup time and you add as many as you want to the X App interface

Hi elephant

Please send me a direct message and i can add you to the beta testers.

Regarding the volume control, we suspect it has to do with with the lock screen control and a dock session or bluetooth. We have a feedback from James and are treating this with highest priority.

It would be most helpful if you could send a email to appsupport@bang-olufsen.dk describing what you experienced. Sorry for the trouble.

No no no No - thumbs down

I upgraded this morning my Android tablet and surprise.... No DLNA server found....

I'm running Serviio on my Windows server and Minimserver on a Mac mini pointing to the Moment, both servers where not showing.

I started Twonky server on the Mac mini and the app suddenly found Twonky server.

I conclude the Android app is only working with Twonky Surprise

I am unable to send any direct stream of a track (Deezer) or radio station (TuneIn) to the Avant from the X app...

So I can add the Avant as multiroom when playing first on the BS2 or Moment and then leaving it on low volume or even completely mute.

When the Avant is selected in the X app and then I tap on a specific music track or radio station to play, it says this is not supported.

So only multiroom works for now for the Avant?...

One of the reasons I prefer Twonky over QNAP or Synology DLNA servers when you have no search capability: Artist Index

Agreed, I love the Artist Index of Twonky. I looked into how I could edit the XML views to allow for indexing of other categories like album / song, etc... unfortunately there is little to no guidance on how to make it happen.

I would LOVE for the X App to support DLNA search functionality.

Is the Beoremote app a DLNA controller that you use to stream Videos & Photos to your B&O TV ? (I don't have such devices)

No, the BeoRemote app does not have this functionality.

However, if they (the X-team) want to port this function to the tv's, it would not be a problem, since the modern BV's can act as a DLNA renderer.

Using other DLNA apps to send pictures/movies (and music) to the BV's for playback is no problem.

The BeoMusic app does not search your QNAP collection but is integrated with the Moment and leverages its collection information database for searches and metadata management.

The X App is not integrated with the Moment and sees it as a DLNA renderer like any other from the brand, e.g A6

This is what i can conclude from the beta and It is very disappointing for Moment owners .... for the moment

ah, thanks for the explanation......and yes, as a Moment owner, the X app becomes very incomplete....

as a beta tester for the X app, i guess i should provide B&O with the DLNA search feedback.....they have to provide something.....in a perfect world, the search field on the Music page should search across both Deezer and Local content.....though i don't think they will do that....i am expecting iOS content (phone / iPad local ) to be added to Music...and then a untied search will need to cut across Deezer / DLNA / iPhone content, and that may get too difficult for B&O, though should be possible.....

When I tap on a track to play from my NAS, it literally takes 1-2 seconds and then starts playing. This is so cool!

The BeoMusic app used to take 3-4 seconds before it played a track off my NAS.

I have around 15,000 tracks on my NAS, please do a search function - at least for title name...

Keep up the good work NEO ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I'm still having a problem when streaming Apple Music in that if I start my music from AM and then open the X App it immediately pauses the stream and will not play again until I close the X app meaning I cannot join the zones together without the use of BeoMusic. Is this a bug that will be fixed for the merge of the apps at the end of the month? I can send logs if needed as this is not an rare thing it happens every time I try to use the app with AM

Any SW which aims to put a user's media at their fingertips, and lacks a search function is missing the point. PLEASE implement a search function.

It appears the patient (aka the B&O software team) which had previous suffered from the seriously annoying "MOTS" syndrome, have developed another condition called "Pattern Play". It is true that some people enjoy interacting with objects displaying such idiosyncratic tendencies.

However the ability to converse in a normal way by asking a straight "search" question would benefit both patient and its associates.

I am unable to add a track or artist from my NAS to my favourites in the X app.

Would it be possible for NAS music that I love, to collate under the apps main interface like below in square tiles?...

Instead of scrolling all the way down and then trying to find the track folder by folder or however it is organised...

I suppose the search function will come soon but I would really like to be able to "tag" specific tracks from my NAS.

Yep, i raised that same question a few days ago when the beta was released....

The old BeoMusic app didn't have these kind of unified features (search, favorit-ing) across sources.....so i'm not expecting the X app to be able to do it....thats more the functionality of a Moment.......but i'm with you, it would be great if the sections under Music in the app would be unified......

Many many questions, can't answer them all but we're reading and learning. Some quick comments:

Yes, we are working on favorites on DLNA, and perhaps even unified with the Deezer favorites.

Yes, there will be DLNA search. DLNA  does not support this out of the box so we have to do it our selves. We have already tested harvesting and can do it fairly quickly on high end phones

Apple music is hard since it is DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected, so no support for now.

Local music, we will start with iTunes support and work from there.

Yes, the NL/ML converter will be supported

Yes, the essence mk1 will be supported

For me, at least -- with over 15,000+ tracks (like a few others here) on my NAS -- DLNA search would be the holy grail if it worked decently well :-)

You have no idea, even with the Artist Index (Twonky) which divides artists out into ABC, DEF, etc chunks, how much scrolling I have to do to get to different tracks. A search function is golden!

I already put the lower threshold at 35k tracks Smile when I first discussed this option with MrAndersen.

What is important also is proper management of the collection refresh and I strongly advise a manual refresh capability to avoid recreating the same issues that the Moment has with large library and DLNA status change detection.

This is great! I'm so happy different users with a diverse set of use cases are in contact with the engineers so that the software can provide a pleasant user experience across the board at the outset. Thank you! :-)

I'm very much looking forward to search coming to my fingertips in the near future!

DLNA search would indeed be exciting. great to hear this is on the development. also great to see deezer can be eliminated from all views. well done!

i have a question for those using the beta, which i read here already supports ml/nl: does the new app allow to play DLNA directly to the ML/nl?

I think this counts as a HACK in a good ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿ‘ way ...

using the old Watch app to control the new iPhone app ?

Thought it might be an appropriate title for the man's 100th birthday.
