Nikon fans; the new D90 is out!

Just came across the news that the new D90 is out now, read more on: http://kenrockwell.com/nikon/d90.htm or www.dpreview.com

Interesting to see how they price it, less than a 1000 pound D300, more than a 450 pound D60...

Very interesting review in NYTimes, from David Pogue. Think I may be in the market for this one, because of the HD-video function. Being able to play around with SLR-lenses and HD-video is going to be joy.

Has the D90 got a built in AF motor? We've just recently bought a D60, which is a great camera, but the limited range of AFS lenses from Nikon and the fact that others such as Sigma haven't got round to implementing the technology in their products, means that it's not quite the best thing since sliced bread just yet.

Yep, the D90 got an AF motor, I got the exact same problem, i cant upgrade from my D50 to a D60 because i cant use most of my lenses on that one (Nikon 50mm, Nikon 28mm, Sigma 18-200mm). So the D90 looks to be the one for me, and Video could be fun to try.

Mmm. Maybe we should have waited for the D90 to be released!

The  D60 is still a  nice camera, small and light. Just put the original nikon 18-200 VR on it and you never need anything else. I would prefer a D60+Nikon18-200 combo over a D90+18-105 combo, should be around the same price for the two combos.

Re: Nikon fans; the new D90 is out!

It seems that HD video recording is limited to 5min... I will keep my D300 for the moment...

If you want stunning videos and want to spend a "B&O budget" on it, just because you have everything in the B&O range, just look at a RED videocamera! (www.red.com). In fact you can get real photographic quality stills from these cameras...
